Chemical/Physical Nature

ZC-4949 resin is an unsaturated polyester resin with isophthalic acid, maleic anhydride, and standard diols as the main raw materials. It has been dissolved in styrene crosslinking monomers and has moderate viscosity and high reactivity.

Benefits and Application

ZC-4949 resin has high mechanical strength, good toughness, and low sensitivity to product fracture, thus having a high fatigue life. Especially suitable for products that come into contact with water, especially seawater. Has high water and chlorine resistance. The main molding processes include winding, extrusion, casting grids, and hand pasting. Can be used for fiberglass products such as seawater transportation pipelines, seawater aquaculture, and seawater purification. Compliant with the JC/T1092-2008 standard for mechanically formed winding resin and the GB/T21238-2007 standard for fiberglass sand filled pipes, it can be used for continuous winding processes.

Application Guidelines

1. ZC-4949 resin does not contain wax, accelerators, or thixotropes.
2. Recommended curing system: Cobalt based accelerator (1% Co) 0.4-2.0%, MEKP curing agent 1.0-2.5%.
3. ZC-4949 is applicable to the inner lining and structural layers of pipelines with seawater resistance requirements; For those with higher heat resistance or food grade requirements, it is recommended to choose NEWSOLAR meta benzene type 9406S food grade resin.
