ZC-36 gelcoat resin is a phthalic type natural unsaturated polyester gel coat resin with phthalic anhydride, maleic anhydride and standard diols as main raw materials. It has been dissolved in styrene cross-linking monomer, contains thixotropic additives, has low viscosity and medium reactivity.

Benefits and Application

ZC-36 resin has good strength and toughness, small shrinkage, and good product transparency. It is suitable for spraying to make surface decorative layers and protective layers of various ordinary fiberglass products.

Application Guidelines

1. ZC-36 Gelcoat resin does not contain wax and accelerator, but contains thixotropic additive.
2. The mold should be treated in a standardized manner before use to meet the construction requirements of the gel coat.
3. Spraying process: Select a suitable spray gun for gel coat; the air source should be dry, clean, and free of oil and other pollution; the air source pressure should be appropriate and stable to meet the construction requirements of the gel coat.
4. Color paste recommendation: Active color paste for gel coat, 3-5%. The compatibility and hiding power of the color paste should be confirmed by on-site tests.
5. Recommended curing system: MEKP, 1.5~2.5% for gel coat; 0.5~2% for gel coat accelerator. Confirm by on-site tests during application.
6. Recommended gel coat dosage: Wet film thickness 0.4~0.6mm, dosage 500~800g/m. Gel coat is too thin and prone to wrinkling or bottom exposure, too thick and prone to sagging, cracks or sand holes, uneven thickness and prone to wrinkling or local discoloration, etc.
7. When the gel coat is no longer sticky, proceed to the next step (making the upper reinforcement layer). If it is too early or too late, wrinkles, exposed fibers, partial discoloration or delamination, self-release from the mold, cracks, fissures, etc. may occur.
