ZC-3033 gelcoat resin is an isophthalic acid-neopentyl glycol type natural unsaturated polyester gel coat resin with isophthalic acid, maleic anhydride, neopentyl glycol and other standard diols as main raw materials. It has been dissolved in styrene cross-linking monomer, contains thixotropic additives, and has medium viscosity and medium reactivity.
ZC-3033 resin has good strength, hardness and toughness, small shrinkage, excellent water resistance, heat resistance, wear resistance and weather resistance, and the product has good transparency. It is suitable for the surface protection layer of FRP molds made by brushing process.

1. ZC-3033 gelcoat resin does not contain wax and accelerator, but contains thixotropic additive.
2. The mold should be treated in a standardized manner before use to meet the requirements of gel coat construction.
3. Color paste recommendation: active color paste for gel coat, 3-5%. The compatibility and hiding power of the color paste should be confirmed by on-site tests.
4. Recommended curing system: MEKP, 1.5~2.5% for gel coat curing agent: 0.5~2% for gel coat accelerator. Confirm by on-site tests during application.
5. Recommended gel coat dosage: It is recommended to apply at least two coats. The total thickness of the wet film is not less than 0.6mm, and the dosage is 700~1000g/m2. If the gel coat is too thin, it is easy to wrinkle or expose the bottom; if it is too thick, it is easy to sag, crack or sand hole; if the thickness is uneven, it is easy to wrinkle or discolor locally.
6. When the gel coat is gelled to the point where it is not sticky, the next process (brushing the gel coat in batches or applying the reinforcement layer) is carried out. If it is done too early or too late, it is easy to cause problems such as wrinkling, fiber exposure, local discoloration or delamination, self-separation from the mold, cracks, and fissures.
